Who will I talk to at the meeting?
You will talk to persons of the opposite-sex in your age range. If there is a reception preceding or following the event, you talk to all singles.

What will I talk about?
Talk about your current hobbies and your future dreams. Talk about what you do when you are not working; don't talk about work itself. You will be given some suggestions and questions to make it easier. Don't talk about money, your ex, your boss, your kids, or your appearance.

What if I get "stuck" with one person all night?
It won't happen. At intervals the women change places so everyone gets to talk to many people before the night is over. 

I'm shy? What if I can't think of anything to talk about?
We will give you some suggested topics of conversation. You might also have a few questions in mind to keep the conversation rolling. Remember, ask open-ended questions--those questions that can not be answered by "yes" or "no."

How will I contact an interesting person again?
You give feed-back for the singles you meet. Check "yes" if you would like to meet him/her again or "no" if you would not care to meet again. If both parties check "yes," the host emails you contact information within 48 hours or slightly longer on large events. You do not give out or ask for contact information during your rotation. This eliminates the rejection factor--both being rejected and having to reject another single.

Do you arrange the second meeting?
No, once you have contact information, the two parties involved arrange a second meeting of their choice. Of course, we advise singles to follow all safety precautions for subsequent meetings: Two cars, meet in a public place, don't leave together, tell someone where you are meeting and the person's name you are meeting, etc.

What if I need to cancel?
You have made a guaranteed reservation. However, we know "things" happen. If you must cancel, please notify Express Meet by calling metro 948-4194, ext 2. Click here for credit procedures.

What if I can't come and don't cancel?
That makes you a "no-show." This means the genders are not balanced at an event. There are always exceptions, of course, but in general, a "no-show" is not welcome at other speed dating events. Take the time to cancel, please.  See cancellation policies.

Is there any way to guarantee that I can come?
There is only way to guarantee that you can come to an event. Bring a friend of opposite gender who has never attended an Express Meet. Your friend must meet the age perimeters, of course, and you must notify Express Meet when you register that you are coming with an opposite-gender friend.

Do I make reservations?
Yes, reservations are required and are made on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

Do I guarantee my reservation? 
Yes, when you make a reservation for a specific speed dating event, you are guaranteeing your reservation.

Can I pay at the door?
No. Because rotations must be set up appropriately in advance, reservations and payment are required in advance.

Is proof of age/identity  required?
Yes, you must show your driver's license at the door. In addition to verifying age, this verification of identity adds a safety factor to speed dating events.

What if an event is full?
Your money will be refunded or you can transfer to the next event. The choice is yours.

What if I really don't like one person I meet?
Be polite for a few minutes. Then you will meet someone new!!

What happens after the event?
If there is a reception following the event, singles talk, including talking to others who were not in their rotation. If there is no reception, women are given two-to-three minutes to leave. Men may then leave. 

I have personal cards with my contact information. Can I give them to people I would like to meet again?
In one word, "no." 

I want to meet singles much older (younger) than I am? Can I do this? 
During the speed dating rotations, you will meet people close to your own age. During the reception prior to the speed dating rotations,  you will meet singles who span a large age range. There is an opportunity to contact them, too.

Can you guarantee that same gender friends can come together?
No, we can't--not even when you sign up at the same time. It might happen--but it might not, so please don't sign up expecting it.

What if I (a female) want to come with my girlfriend? 
Yes, girlfriends are support. But Heart Express can not guarantee that two females can come together or sit together. So be an adult here and register for yourself alone. Remember: You are making a guaranteed reservation whether your girlfriend gets in or not.
