How Does This Work?
Ten Simple Steps
1. An
approximately equal number of single men and women gather at a
hotel or restaurant which has been reserved for a speed dating event.
2. Each single checks in and is assigned a number for his/her first table.
All tables are numbered.
3. After check-in, you are given a few minutes to look over suggested conversation topics and suggested questions. You will normally participate in a mixer to relax you and acquaint you with the entire group.

A speed dating meeting begins with a man and a woman seated together at a table.
They converse for seven minutes.
5. At the end of seven minutes, your host notifies you and all meetings
stop.
6. You have a form asking if you would
like to see your first acquaintance again. You merely check "yes" or
"no" on that form.
7. Women move to the next table where the process begins again. You will
meet at least 6 singles in your age range in this manner.
8. Leave your rotation program with your choices with the host as you leave.
9.
When both parties check "yes" to each other, your host emails you contact information for the other party within 48 hours
of the party or slightly longer at large events.
10. You never ask for contact information or give out your own contact
information. Thus, there is no pressure at Heart Express events.

Example for Age Choice You are 38 years old. You are choosing a 12-year span that includes your age. You choose age 28 to 38. That will not work because it does not include a 12-year span. You choose age 32 to 45. That will work. You choose age 40 to 55. That will not work because it does not include your present age. |

age range you want to meet as long as that age range: Your age can be in the middle of the 12-year span, the top of the 12-year span, the bottom of the 12-year span as long as your age is included in the age span. Still confused? See example. |
Get-Acquainted
Imagine this: You are seated at a table across from a single person of the opposite-sex. You talk; you laugh; you ask questions. At the end of seven minutes, one of you (the woman) stands up and moves to another table.But wait. Would you like to see this person again? If so, check "yes" before talking to the next person. When both parties check "yes," your host will email you the other person's contact information.
It is then up to the two of you to decide on any further meetings.
Now you are seated with the next person of the opposite-sex for seven minutes. You try out his/her sense of humor and utilize other ways to get to know that person.
Again, at the end of seven minutes, the woman moves on and the getting-to-know-you process starts over.
Before the night is over, you have seven-minute conversations with at least six singles--just enough time to determine if sufficient common interests exist for another meeting--not enough time to feel trapped or bored by the process.
